Blessings come in all sizes. I was asked by the Stevensville Main Street Association to paint a mural at their location across from the Veteran’s Park. The project was of large proportions, 1000 sq. feet to be exact. It was of large proportion in heart as well. Not only was I beautifying downtown Stevensville in time for Founder’s Day, but also honoring the Veteran’s from American Legion Post 94. The story unfolded in the most delightful way. A young student from NAU in Flagstaff Arizona, Cassie Bartlett, had asked to mentor under me for 10 days. Her mother is a dear friend from long ago. Her timing and journey wrapped around this delightful community project. Our hearts intertwined to formulate a wonderful painting collaboration. Cassie took instruction very well and her beautiful representation of the American Legion Post building shined as a centerpiece of the mural. My world is about collaboration, connecting, sharing and building community. The arts bring these key elements into focus in the most delightful, colorful manner. What a blessing and what a journey we encountered.
