The NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) makes a difference in all of our lives. It touches the common core of artists in every state. What might the arts be (you ask)? The arts refer to more than visual arts it refers to a way of life: to music, dance, photography, poetry, writing and on and on. This way of life is one that we know and understand in our great state of Montana. The people that surround you, in your village, your town, your rural area all have gifts in the arts. We have a need to express ourselves as humans. We move our bodies, we speak, we dance to music in our homes, we paint and draw in our journals quietly… we are lifted through the arts.
I was featured in a publication through the NEA and so very proud of the chance to tell my story. Now you must know… I am no writer, I only know I try to speak my truth and the NEA gave me a chance to tell my simple story from a humble viewpoint. Thank you NEA, may we fight to keep the arts alive and well.
“The National Endowment for the Arts is an independent federal agency that funds, promotes, and strengthens the creative capacity of our communities by providing all Americans with diverse opportunities for arts participation.”
